Sopedu
A deity of the air and the eastern stars, Sopedu is the messenger of sacred lightning. He represents speed, vision, and mental power. His spirit guides the soul toward lofty and clear goals.

Sopedu is the God of the Eastern Sky and of the stars that announce the rebirth of the Sun.
He is the warrior of light who protects Egypt and opens the celestial paths of the morning.
The name Sopedu derives from the term spdt, meaning “pointed star” or “star that pierces the sky,” the same root from which the name of Sothis (Sirius) comes.
He is the Lord of the East, the point from which light returns after the night, and he represents the heavenly power of a new beginning.
In the oldest inscriptions, Sopedu appears as a warrior deity armed with a spear or sword, wearing the double feather on his head and the aspect of a radiant youth.
He was worshipped as the protector of Egypt’s eastern borders, particularly in the region of Sinai, where he was considered the guardian of the sacred paths and divine mines.
In the solar era, he became associated with Horus and Ra, as the force that opens the gates of the morning and defeats darkness with the blade of light.
Sopedu is also connected to the star Sirius (Sopdet), whose annual reappearance marked the beginning of the Nile’s flood and the start of the sacred year.
Just as Sopdet is the Mother Star, Sopedu represents her masculine and dynamic aspect — the celestial fire that guides divine warriors and spiritual travelers.
In the initiatory path, he is the bearer of cosmic vision, the one who opens the way of ascent toward the light of the stars.
