Sobek
Crocodile god, symbol of strength and protection, Sobek is the guardian of the primordial waters. Instinct and sacredness, courage and wisdom coexist within him. He is the natural power that defends and renews life.

Sobek is the Crocodile God, incarnation of the sacred waters of the Nile and of the creative power of nature.
He unites instinct and divinity, destruction and rebirth, defending the balance of life through the power of the depths.
The name Sobek derives from sbk, meaning “he who is capable,” or “the mighty one who unites.”
From the earliest dynasties, he was venerated as the manifestation of the Nile’s waters, from which life — and danger — both arose: in him coexist chaos and creation.
Depicted as a crocodile or a man with the head of a crocodile, Sobek represents the instinctive force of nature, the pure will that moves all things.
In his ancient gaze is reflected the primordial power of the waters, from which fertility, knowledge, and regeneration emerge.
He was considered the son of Neith, the Goddess of Cosmic Waters, and was associated with Ra, becoming Sobek-Ra, the Sun that rises from the waters.
In this union, Sobek becomes the bearer of the light that rises from chaos — a perfect symbol of cyclical renewal and of the divine power that animates all life.
In the temples, Sobek was honored with rites of purification and strength, often alongside Horus and Hathor, representing the harmony between masculine energy and feminine grace.
In Middle Egypt, the city of Kom Ombo became his main cult center, with a great temple shared with Horus the Younger.
On an initiatory level, Sobek represents the transmutation of instinctive power into spiritual awareness.
He teaches that one must not suppress inner forces, but purify and guide them, like the Nile that flows and nourishes all it touches.
