Ra

Lord of the Sun and the source of Creation, Ra is the light that generates all life. Symbol of origin and return, he is the eternal flame of the Divine. Invoke him to awaken the consciousness and solar energy within you.

Ra, also called Re in the language of Kemet, is the most ancient and supreme solar deity of ancient Egypt.
He represents the original creative force, the divine consciousness manifesting as light, the source of all life, order, and knowledge.

It is said that Ra arose from Nun, the primordial ocean, upon a hill of light, creating himself as the first emanation of the All.
From him were born Shu (air) and Tefnut (moisture), Geb (earth) and Nut (sky) — thus giving rise to the Heliopolitan cosmology.

Each day, Ra sails across the sky upon the Solar Boat (Mandjet), illuminating the Earth and dispensing life.
At sunset, he descends into the Duat, the underworld, to battle the forces of chaos and be reborn at dawn in an eternal cycle of renewal.

This journey represents the daily transmutation of the soul, the victory of light over darkness, and of consciousness over oblivion.

Ra is also the inner Sun within man, the divine spark burning in the heart.
On the spiritual path, he is the awareness that illumines all things, dissolving the illusion of separation.
